THIS SHIRT WILL REST IN PEACE

Foxbat – Louisville, KY

In the two years Foxbat has been exasperating the masses, they have released an EP on Little Heart Records (Knocked Loose), toured throughout the Midwest and Southern half of the United States, and shared stages with heavy hitters such as: He is Legend, ’68,Norma Jean, Islander, and The Devil Wears Prada. With a respectful nod to the likes of Every Time I Die and Glassjaw, Foxbat are carving their own niche in the music industry by ensuring neck wrecking riffs and unapologetic vocals fill every nook and cranny of their songs.

Preparing the release of their debut full length, “ROTGUT”, Foxbat are gearing up to destroy stages across the country upon its unveiling.“We’ve all been doing this long enough to know that we can’t expect anyone to accidentally discover us” says singer Clay Nevels. “So we just do it ourselves. We book our own tours, we design/print a lot of our merch in my garage. If something happens to be out of our skill set, we’ll hire likeminded people to help us out, but typically we like to take a crack at it.” Foxbat have found help through Louisville, KY’s record label Core Sample Records, who is handling the release and distribution of their record.

“Wes from Core Sample is a rad dude. We tell him what we want to do, and he immediately responds with ‘How can I help?’” adds bassist Jeromy Johns.

Produced by Jordan Haynes of Artifex Pereo(Tooth and Nail Records) and mastered by Kris Crummett (Dance Gavin Dance, The Story So Far), “ROTGUT” is packed with 10 songs that smash through a full dynamic range of vulnerable to volatile. Touching on topics such as: religion, depression, and politics, “ROTGUT” delivers a divisive auditory experience. Vocalist Clay admits “There’s so much wrong in this world and we’re all contributing to it. Rather than focusing on my problems, I’ve been listening more and hoping to spread the idea of empathy.”

Foxbat features ex-members from: SoCal’s Prog-Metal outfit I, Omega(Bullet Tooth) and Louisville’s own Party Rockers Uh Huh Baby Yeah (Revival Recordings) and after the release of “ROTGUT” the band plan to stretch further across the country to pour their strong brand of chaos into the shot glasses of every dive bar, music venue, and living room that will house them.
